A Whole Lotta Toccata ~ Jonathan Parker
November 14 at 3 pm
For most of us, the organ toccata has become a kind of music that involves rapid passages in the hands, a mighty tune in the feet, all played on the full organ! But did you know that the origin of the toccata couldn’t be more different? Learn about the birth of the toccata and explore its evolution through four hundred years with such diverse composers as Bach, Pachelbel, Sweelinck, Reger, Vierne, and Durufle.
“ ’Twas the Night before Christmas and…” ~ Chancel Choir and Orchestra
Friday, December 10 at 7:30 pm
Sunday, December 12 at 3 pm

Yes, it ‘Twas and ‘Twill be! The Chancel Choir with orchestra, organ, bells, and more will return to celebrate the birth of Christ. Whether it be the night before Christmas, the week before, or the month or year after, you will be renewed as you sing and hear the traditional carols, hear the Christmas story, and ponder the blessings of Christ. You will hear the music of John Rutter, Randol Bass, Mack Wilberg, Barlow Bradford, and our own Karen Amrhein. The sounds will soar to mighty heights and then calm you with beautiful, quiet, contemplative simplicity. This is an event that we all look forward to, an event that we always want to share with the community. Put it on your calendar now!
