Adult Ministry
ADULT MINISTRY
The mission of Adult Ministry is to provide communities where believers can meet and study God’s word in a caring, loving and supportive environment. Educational, growth and fellowship opportunities for adults are provided on Sunday through classes and Grow Groups, and throughout the week through Bible studies, prayer groups, classes and special congregational events.
Sunday Morning Classes
There are many classes or Grow Groups to choose from on Sunday Morning. Though the topics and leaders may vary, all are designed to broaden our understanding of the Christian life and lead to practical application. We have three trimesters of offerings each year. Sign-ups for the Grow Groups happen at the start of each trimester. For a list of current offerings check News & Views.
Alpha
If you’re looking for answers about the Christian faith, then you might want to consider ALPHA. This is a 10 week introductory course on the Christian faith. Alpha is a fun, engaging and practical introduction to the Christian faith that takes place over a series of Wednesday evenings. Alpha starts with dinner each week at 6:30pm in "The Courtyard" room at Central. Dinner is followed by a thought-provoking talk and an opportunity to meet in small groups for discussion. The evening will end by 9:00 p.m., and childcare will be offered.
Next class begins: September 16th
Financial Peace University
Financial Peace University (FPU) is being offered at Central Presbyterian Church. The Fall 2009 Session form September 21, 2009 to December 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. each Monday evening. FPU teaches congregations and communities to handle God's money God's way. We teach people to live like no one else so later they can live like no one else. The average family reduces their debt by $5,300 and saves $2,700 in 91 days.
You do not need to be a regular attender of Central to attend FPU, but in order for us to have enough materials, it's necessary to sign up in advance. The cost is $99 for the 13 week series, but the results of this exciting program is truly priceless.
We have run several exciting small group FPU classes at Central, and will continue to run additional small groups this fall. More information about the upcoming small groups and class will be available in the next few months.
For more information, check out FPU Info and pick up a brochure at the Connection Central counter in the church concourse. You can also call Bryan Brunelle, or e-mail: fpu@centralpc.org.
