Getting Connected

GETTING CONNECTED

Getting Connected“ For everyone who asks receives; those who seeks find;
and to those who knock, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:10 (TNIV)

No matter how friendly and welcoming a church is, we recognize that visiting any church for the first time may take some courage. You're probably wondering things like - What's the church like? Are they friendly? Will I feel comfortable? How do I get to know people here?

Whether you’ve never attended a church before, or you are a Christian looking for a church to call home, we want to help you! Central presents tremendous opportunities for developing relationships, finding groups to grow with, and moving forward from wherever you may be in your spiritual journey . Here are some first step opportunities for getting connected at Central.

CONNECTION CENTRAL

Where’s the nursery? Is there an evening Bible Study I can join? How do I sign my child up for Vacation Bible School? Staffed with friendly volunteers before and after all Sunday morning worship services, Connection Central is the place to get your questions answered and receive assistance with finding a place to connect at Central. You’ll find Connection Central to the right of the main entrance.

OPEN DOOR

No matter what doors you’ve been through… our doors are open to you. After you’ve attended worship, then perhaps you’d like to know a little more about Central. We invite you to join us after any of the worship services on the first Sunday of the month for a chance to get your questions answered, and, if you’d like, go on a small group tour of the building. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and talk with some of us who already call Central “home” and, it will give us a chance to begin to get to know you. After the service, as others are leaving the worship area, join us at the front center of the worship area where someone will meet and welcome you. For more information contact opendoor@centralpc.org.

DISCOVERING CENTRAL

New to Central and wondering what your next step might be? Then join us for Discovering Central. This four week gathering on Sunday mornings is designed for both those new to Central or those who are considering the possibility of joining.. You’ll have a chance to meet others from Central in a small group setting as well as the pastors, learn about what we believe and value, and have a chance to get your questions answered. This class is an essential first step to becoming a member. Please let us know you plan to come by registering. (Contact cheryl@centralpc.org) Discovering Central sessions are usually offered three to four times a year.

CHAT

After you’ve been through the Discovering Central sessions you’re invited to have a “CHAT”, which is an informal talk with a member of the CHAT Team. This is an initial step in helping you “find your fit” at Central whether it’s through joining a Grow Group or serving with others in active ministry based on your gifts, passions and talents.

ALPHA

AlphaIf you’re looking for answers about the Christian faith, then you might want to consider ALPHA. This is a 10 week introductory course on the Christian faith. Alpha is a fun, engaging and practical introduction to the Christian faith that takes place over a series of Wednesday evenings. Alpha starts with dinner each week at 6:30pm in "The Courtyard" room at Central. Dinner is followed by a thought-provoking talk and an opportunity to meet in small groups for discussion. The evening will end by 9:00 p.m., and childcare will be offered.

NEW MEMBERS’ CLASS

After participating in Discovering Central, you might decide you would like to “officially” join Central. If so, your next step would be to attend a half-day New Members’ Class. During our time together, you will learn what being a disciple and member of Central really means.

There is plenty of time for questions, getting to know others, and time for self evaluation and discussion on how we can live out this tremendous responsibility.
