Day of Hope 2012

What is the Day of Hope outreach?
Day of Hope outreaches, sponsored by Major Melvin Russell’s “The Transformation Team”, are a collaborative effort between churches, businesses, and community organizations to do together what each one could never do alone. As a result of the outreach, recipients are connected with churches and organizations that, collectively, have the people, resources, and programs needed to help.
On the day of the outreach, volunteers will distribute free groceries to the guests of honor and provide health services, community services, job fair, live entertainment, games and activities for children, prizes and giveaways, and much more. Recipients will also have opportunity to hear the gospel and receive prayer for personal needs.
How can I serve at Day of Hope this year?
In 2011, over 3900 guest representing over 7600 individuals in households were served by over 900 volunteers. This year Central is joining dozens of other churches in Baltimore City and from around the region to serve the people of the Darley Park area of East Baltimore. We would like to have at least 40 volunteers to serve on Saturday, July 28th. For more information on the Day of Hope or to inquire about serving, email Kim Meagher or call her at 410-790-2283.
Watch Major Melvin Russell, Eastern District Commander, Baltimore Police Department, and Founder of The Transformation Team discuss the Day of Hope.
