Welcome to Central Presbyterian Church!
We are a Baltimore Area church that loves Jesus and follows Him by loving God, loving people, and serving the world.
We are a place where many generations interact, share, learn from and bless each other. And we are on the adventure of being the church together.
Browse our web site for opportunities to learn, find youth ministries and groups for all ages. Use our website to find ways to volunteer or listen to a sermon... or let us know if there's a way we can help you. We hope you will join us sometime soon.
The invitation to the Lord's Supper is extended to all who believe in Christ and have been baptized, remembering that Communion is not a right conferred upon the worthy, but a privilege given to the undeserving who come in faith, repentance, and love.
Baptism at Central
Baptism is the church's proclamation and experience that God has first chosen us and loved us and called us into His kingdom. It demonstrates publically our repentance and desire to follow Christ. As a Presbyterian Church, we baptize infants of believing families, as well as children and adults who have come to faith.
Prayer at Central
Prayer is the foundation of all we do. Learn more about how we can pray for you and how we can pray together by calling or stopping by the church office or visiting the welcome desk on Sunday.
Central is governed by a body called the Session. It is comprised of elected, ordained elders who together provide the governance of the church. Elders serve three-year terms.
Deacons are elected and ordained by the church to embody Christ’s love by demonstrating leadership in serving the sick, the friendless and those in distress, both within and beyond our church family. Deacons serve three-year terms.
Weddings at Central
We believe marriage is a covenant between a woman and a man who, before God, make a lifelong commitment to each other. In our wedding ceremonies, we rejoice that marriage is a gift given by God, blessed by Jesus Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Weddings are offered for regular attenders and their families.
We believe in helping people through the grief process. Whether by providing funeral services for regular attenders and their families, or by offering other grief support, we seek to help you in your time of loss.
Handicap, hearing impaired and special needs
We offer handicap access, listening devices for the hearing impaired, and work to meet all special needs. We will try our best to do everything we can to assist you, but if there is something you need, please visit our welcome desk. We want to help you!
If we face inclement weather on the weekend and you want to know how Central is handling it, go to our website www.centralpc.org or call the Church (410-823-6145) and go to our snowline (ext. 237). We will keep these updated with cancellations and/or delays. We will also alert WRBS and WBAL radio stations and WBAL TV.
Our standing policy for during the week is to follow Baltimore County Schools. This means that if the schools are closed or close early all church activities are cancelled. Call your ministry leader to find out if the ministry you are participating in is making an exception.
We Are a Presbyterian USA Church
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is a confessional and a connectional church, distinguished by the representation of elders — laymen and laywomen — in its government. The church has a membership of 2.3 million in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
Currently there are nearly 11,000 congregations, over 21,000 ordained ministers, 1,100 candidates for ministry and more than 94,000 elders.
We are called to address wrongs in every aspect of life and the whole of creation, intentionally working with and on behalf of poor, oppressed and disadvantaged people as did Jesus Christ.
